Videos with your own subtitles ONLINE: VideoSub

Today I bring you a new online utility from Redalan: Videosub.

Suddenly you find that there is an old film on a video platform, but it doesn't have the subtitles, either over-impressed or the channel hasn't added them. Nothing you can do... until now.

With VideoSub, say the url of the video (the one that appears to share) and look for the subtitle in one of the countless platforms that exist for it, download it, unzip it and ... you can watch the video with subtitles.
You have options to change the font size and to fast-forward or rewind the subtitles (some files are out of sync).

At the moment, it only supports the Youtube platform and it is only in Spanish. But it is the first version.

HTML, CSS and Javascript Online with Codi.link and others

Although you can do all this locally and with your code editor, there are times when you want to test "live" some code, css, html or javascript alternatives. And it is possible that your code editor supports addons to do all this on the same screen. But there are also many of us developers who don't want to "crash" our editors and resort to online tools, sometimes developed by ourselves, to do this "test area".

To make this easier for you, many publish their own online tools for the benefit of the community (and some for advertising purposes, which is not reprehensible).

CODI.LINK

The first one I recommend is Codi.Link, by spanish youtuber/streamer Miguel Ángel Durán.

Recently created and with the help of its followers, it promises to become one of the best online CSS, Html and Javascript testing grounds.

CODEPEN

One of the best known and most widely used is CodePen. Similar to the previous one and with a multitude of functions.

JS.DO

A test area that I have used (and use) for a long time, as it is simple and with no code separation is simple and without code separation is JS DO by Rodrigo Siqueira.

Online Json Validation and Error Checking

The Json data format allows us to do so many things, every developer, both Backend and Frontend has dealt with a huge Json containing... a bug.

To find that pesky "character", or that occasional composition error, Curious Concept brings us its online utility Json Formarter and Validator.
And although you probably know of other utilities for formatting, querying and even validating Jsons, I have found this simple tool to be the most useful and usable of all the ones I know.

Take a look and let me know.

Transfer files online with no size limit and no logging

Surely you know (or maybe you don't) WeTransfer. It is one of the most popular services for sharing large files, with no prior registration required, although the free version (i.e. without prior registration) allows you a maximum file size of 2GB.

And so, there are a lot of utilities on the internet. Some require registration, others do not. Some allow you to send a maximum of 1GB at a time, others 5GB, and so on and so forth.

But today I am informing you about one of these services that, in its free version and without registrations... offers you to send an UNLIMITED file size that will be available for download for a maximum of 14 days and that you share via a link. This is Smash.

It does require you to include the "sender's" email address, so I don't know if they will spam a lot with that information. But as a service it's one to keep in mind.

Photopea: The "photoshop" online and free

Photoshop is one of the most popular professional editors of all time. And, both professional and amateur designers use it all over the world. Certainly, if you want to go "legit", Photoshop, while tremendously powerful, comes at a price that not everyone can afford, especially if you are not in the design world.

But, today, there is a project that will surprise you: Photopea
With a layout very similar to Photoshop, even with very similar keyboard shortcuts, and totally ONLINE, you will have a complete photo editor that will allow you to do almost everything that the king of design programs allows you to do. Including adjustment layers and masks.

And remember, it is a completely free application that you can use without registration of any kind. There is also a paid version (around €40 per year) if you want to get some extras and use the programme without advertising.

It is also available in different languages (More/Languages menu) and even, if you use Chrome, you will see in More the option "Install", which adds access to your Chrome applications, making them easier to use.

And although it is not a desktop application, but an online one (which has its advantages and disadvantages), I think you will be surprised.
