Install Nik Collection 1.2.11 on Mac

Nik Collection is a collection of plugins, which in its early days (until version 1.2.11) was completely free of charge.

If you already have it (or if you don't, you can get it here), you will have seen that it is complicated to install it in Photoshop versions 2020 and 2021. (Remember, version 1.2.11, the following ones are trial/paying)

But don't worry, because Phtoshopeando (ES) shows you, for both Mac and Windows, how to install it.

Basically, when you install it, you add the "host", which is a folder on your computer where the plugins for the version of Photoshop you have are located. On a Mac with Big Sur and PS versions 2020/2021, you can try to install everything by default, as it will probably work without any problem.

If you are doing this on a Mac with Big Sur installed, the installation may tell you that it is not compatible with your system.

To bypass that "limitation" do the following.

The icon of the plugin's "installation disk" will have appeared on your desktop. Right-click, the context menu will open and look for the option "New Terminal in Folder", which you will probably have in the "Services" menu.

Click on it and the terminal will appear in that folder. Type the following and press Enter:
SYSTEM_VERSION_COMPAT=1 open "Nik Collection.app"
This will force it to be installed.

Now all you have to do is follow Photoshopeando's instructions.
